How to Approach The Hub

In my 1-2-1 consultations and public courses at places like the London College of Psychic Studies I try to communicate clearly and directly, to make the topics I am discussing easily digestible. Individual points are always addressed as precisely as I can, and the sessions are always goal orientated and solution focussed.

However, my writings (blogs and books) and much of what you will find here in the Hub, are not intended in the same way. It is great if you can follow me word for word, make sense of every nuance of my arguments and see precisely all the points I am trying to explain, but if you cannot then you can still have a tremendously rewarding experience. The object of the exercise you see, here in the Hub and in my writings, is simply for me to talk around a particular topic so that your reaction is ‘aha, I hadn’t seen it that way’ or ‘ooh, I did not know that.’ Not every word needs to be perfectly understood. I do not ask to be taken literally and though I make pains to be precise the thing I am most interested in is what is known as directional accuracy.

Directional accuracy occurs when I suggest that you consider ‘X’ or ‘look over there,’ because even though I do not know what the precise answer to your life is, I do know where you will find it. Think of me as a doctor who says that by improving your diet you can add twenty years to your life, even though you might only live another ten. If you do only live for another ten then I will have been technically inaccurate, but I will be directionally accurate in the sense that pursuing a healthier lifestyle improves your odds of a better life, and if you had not taken my advice those ten years might have been very miserable ones indeed. Directional accuracy – getting the direction right – is so important in life because a big part of spiritual and mystical exploration involves the need to avoid delusion.

Clearly, in matters like numerology, as well as with particular meditation or breathing techniques, precision and accuracy are vital. But when we are trying to move forward with our lives, in the ways I demonstrate in this Hub, directional accuracy is also necessary. Here I am taking on the role of Guide, responsible for showing you ways to think differently about yourself and the world. As a Guide, I am not asking you to think MY WAY, simply a DIFFERENT WAY than you did before. That is all I am here for, to facilitate an opening of the Heart, Mind and Soul such that you can make your own way to a better life.

I know that some of my writings and courses are difficult, but this is deliberate because growth requires us to (A) stretch and (B) move in new directions. And I believe that you can do this! It may be that some of what I say does not resonate. But that does not mean it is not true or helpful, merely that you are not ready for it, today. Lack of resonance should never be a reason to reject new information, merely to work harder to reconsider what obstacles are in the way of it. I know this because I regularly have emails from people years after I meet them apologising for not taking what I said seriously at the time. No problem! Such is life, we can only learn what we are ready for. But you cannot change your life without first changing yourself. And you cannot do that without entertaining new thoughts and new ideas. To this end I am not obsessed with being technically precise and pedantically correct about every single matter, and nor I suggest should you be. The journey is what matters. Getting the direction right is always important, but being 100% precise about every single detail hardly ever is. If you come with me on this journey, even though you may discover a few wrinkles along the way, I promise that it will be worthwhile.
